This is a way that Nengah Dika has chosen to exalt classic art of Bali. There are certain aspects of the palm leaf , also known as a lontar leaf, that gives Balinese of the ancient days the ability to bring about advancement to not just painting but literature as well. The palm leaf was Dika’s choice for performing detailed engraving work of Ganesha’s portrait, particularly on dry leaves with a couple of rods made of bamboo for display. This piece is particularly one to admire. The son of Siwa is what Ganesha is known to be. However, he is also the son of Durga. The man-elephant has been given the power to rule over disastrous occult types of forces to mankind. This is very sacred. The portrait has depicted Ganesha with four arms. In one arm, he is holding a symbolism of knowledge that is of eternal superiority in the form of a chain. The book of lontar leaves that represents the origin of the knowledge that was acquired over time. An axe with a sort of lash serves to bring about world protection from disaster and any evil.

The most admired and loved Hindu deity is Ganesha with an elephant head. He is the one counted on to remove obstacles of any kind from ones path. This painting of many colors has outlined Ganesha on a throne and in gold. Painter Mahender Kumawat has Ganesha on an ornamental and marble sculpted plate of Makrana that is on a stand made of sheesham wood. The beauty of it has been ameliorated with an inlay of glass and 22-carat gold. It is important to point out how marble changes at a continuous rate once carving has taken place. The original color has been known to change to an ivory color from a pristine white.
