The people of Mexico worship the Virgin of Guadalupe; Ana Maria Gonzalez has been inspired to design the decoupage chest, ‘Beloved Virgin of Guadalupe’ to honor her. Our Lady of Guadalupe was declared as a patron saint of Americas by Pope John Paul II in 1999, the celebration is carried out on December 12. Her image miraculously appeared on the robe of Saint Juan Diego’s robe, he carried Castilian roses as a proof of her appearance. Her famous image is said to have appeared miraculously on the robe of St. Juan Diego, with Juan Diego holding Castilian roses. These roses were carried to prove the appearance of the Virgin of Guadalupe. St. Juan Diego proposed to the bishop, of Spanish decent, that a church be built in her honor.
