Wayan Kandiyasa was born in Siddhtha Gautama in Lumbini. He is a modern Nepaili, a Buddhist, who at 29 years of age left home to seek truth. Wayan became devoted to living a pure existence in order to reach a higher life. He felt that doing so would enable him to live the ideal in all realms of behavior: thought, speech, behavior, work pursuits, and mindful spirituality.
