Victor Yao Delanya goes about carving this $47.95 wood mask, ‘Ghanaian Healer’
by using sese that is smooth to the touch. The serenity of this mask sort of goes in a direction of the spirits with a look of interest. The carving of a group of people in the eastern part of Ghana called the Akwapim. The mask is worn by the young Akwapim males who dress in special attire made for dances regarding healing. Delanyo has chosen to call this piece Aporn, which means health.
